Slipping From Reality

The Emmys have been a sham for a long time now, so the news that The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences plans to add a category for Reality TV hosts shouldn't come as too much of a shock...


But seriously, how do you even evaluate a host's performance? How much chaos they create? How many contestants end up nude in an episode?

By slighting The Wire and Ian McShane for most of the decade, the Emmys have done enough to damage The Academy's reputation. Having Ryan Seacrest host last year's awards helped not a bit. Isn't it time to stop the bleeding?
